Here’s Why I Love It
Damn, this song, man...
It’s hard for me to say this, since I use words to express myself, but sometimes more words will only ruin something. For that reason, I will keep this very short. I’d rather you go listen to the song.
“Funeral” is a special song. It has multidimensionality (at least to me). I guess it’s a song about sadness, yet also about appreciation. Loneliness, yet also about friendship. Dreaming, yet also living. It’s the kind of song that leaves you in daze. The melody and lyrics, along with her vibe and tone, all just pair so well. It’s sort of like a pumpernickel and peanut butter. No matter how many times I search for a better combo, none equal the pumpernickel and peanut butter. There is no other pumpernickel and peanut butter. It all just works for me. That’s nothing against Bridgers’ other music because she’s one of my favorite modern artists. But each time this song cycles through my playlist, I hit repeat. Listening once is never good enough.
Listen to the song and read the lyrics for full effect.
Don’t forget to listen to the Lyrics I Love playlist on Spotify. A new song is added with each edition!
